This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 2026.
Meteor Asset Management Limited ('Meteor') is committed to preventing acts of modern slavery and human trafficking from occurring within its business and supply chain, and imposes the same high standards on its suppliers.
We operate a number of internal policies to ensure that we are conducting business in an ethical and transparent manner. These include:
- Recruitment Policy: We conduct eligibility to work in the UK checks for all employees to safeguard against human trafficking or individuals being forced to work against their will.
- Whistleblowing Policy: We operate a whistleblowing policy so that all employees know that they can raise concerns about how colleagues are being treated, or practices within our business or supply chain, without fear of reprisals.
- Code of Conduct: Our code makes clear to employees the actions and behaviour expected of them when representing the company. We strive to maintain the highest standards of employee conduct and ethical behaviour.
We undertake due diligence when considering taking on new suppliers, and regularly review our existing suppliers. Our due diligence and reviews include:
- Mapping the supply chain broadly to assess particular product or geographical risks of modern slavery and human trafficking.
- Evaluating the modern slavery and human trafficking risks of each new supplier.
- Conducting supplier audits or assessments through our own staff or third-party auditors, which have a greater degree of focus on slavery and human trafficking where general risks are identified.
- Taking steps to improve substandard suppliers' practices, including providing advice to suppliers and requiring them to implement action plans.
- Participating in collaborative initiatives focused on human rights in general, and slavery and human trafficking in particular.
We invest in educating our staff to recognise the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. Through our training programmes, employees are encouraged to identify and report any potential breaches of our anti-slavery policy.
We will know the effectiveness of the steps that we are taking to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain if:
- No reports are received from employees, the public, or law enforcement agencies to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified.
This statement has been approved by the board of directors, who will review and update it annually.
